Les Amis des Messina

A trip to Paris through Sicilian cuisine

Les Amis des Messina is no longer just the name of the most famous Italian restaurants in Paris. It is also the book by chef Ignazio Messina who, with this work, wanted to describe Sicilian cuisine… and not only.

Years of hard work, sacrifices and satisfaction are collected in the pages of the book, published by La Martinière.

The famous French publishing house entrusted the Faenza Group with the printing of this work after several meetings with the Group’s Technical Director, focused on studying the materials (FSC certified) and the methods linked to the manufacturing processes.

A true photographic reportage in the pages of a book

The result of this project was the printing of a 256-page book on Magnum Natural paper, a special type of tactile paper that Faenza Printing uses to achieve the best results in four-colour photography.

The work is beautifully designed from an editorial and graphic point of view: inside you can admire a true photographic reportage produced mostly in Sicily.

Every single detail has been taken care of: the hardback binding with Vibalin White cover, and the yellow endpapers made by using the paste-dye technique.

High-tech printing and top-quality bookbinding, two elements that are always present in the Faenza Group’s philosophy, come together in a product that ranges from Sicilian cuisine to friendship, via the chef’s origins and family.
